About
I’ve been illustrating for over 30 years. Drawing for kids is especially fun because I love adding silly details like beavers brushing their teeth with toothbrushes made from sticks or frogs gulping beetle burgers at a pondside cafe.
After earning a degree in illustration from Syracuse University, I was recruited to be a staff artist at Hallmark Cards in Missouri. Working there was like going to graduate school because I was surrounded by hundreds of talented creatives.
Eventually, I returned to my home state of Massachusetts to pursue my dream of illustrating children’s books, more than 20 of them, including Magic Places , which sold over 260,000 copies.
Now I’m pursuing another love—painting the intricacies of bird’s nests in watercolor!
